New media technologies have greatly increased the number of interactive learning options available to children. But teachers don't always need laptops or electronics to get the attention of their students. Childrens easels are a tremendously cost-effective way to teach preschool students the creative and literary skills that make learning fun.
Playing and Learning Many types of interactive lessons can be given using preschool easels. Painting on art easels encourages preschoolers to express their imaginations or closely observe the world around them. Childrens easels make learning shapes and colors easy (and sometimes messy). Spelling and vocabulary skills can also be taught through educational easels. Preschool children are often given books in which words are matched up with pictures. Preschool easels provide children with the chance to not only create images themselves, but also spell the word that describes their picture. |
Types of Childrens Easels
Chalk or whiteboard art easels are easy to wipe clean and reuse. However, art easels that use paper are usually a better choice for classrooms. Paper allows preschool children to use paint or crayons rather than just markers and chalk. Paper is also the only easel medium that lets students take their pictures home with them.
As for size, preschool easels are often quite large to provide room for a whole group of children who wish to paint together. Teachers can divide the easel space up into sections, or encourage children to come up one by one and add their own contribution to a picture.
For small childrens easels, it's a good idea to purchase a double-sided easel rather than a single-sided easel. That way two or more children can play without things getting too crowded.
